Land acquisition process and compensation settlement process are the development stages with the highest urgency because the entire development process will have an impact on the environment or ecosystem which will affect all living creatures in the development area. This research was conducted to find out holistically and empirically regarding the existence of the Bendo Reservoir National Strategic Project in Sawoo District. Regarding the process of implementing compensation to affected residents who can also be referred to as recipients of rights in the context of land acquisition for public purposes. Apart from obstacles, the flow and process of compensation requires review and supervision in the academic field, especially empirically as a form of contribution from the world of education to development that prioritizes environmental protection. This empirical juridical research will reveal the legal facts contained in this research originating from the research location with data managed using descriptive qualitative methods through unstructured interviews which will then be narrated descriptively to explain chronologically and substantively regarding the suitability of the land compensation process for recipient of rights. Ways to overcome the obstacles that occur will also be discussed in this research to provide information so that it is hoped that the results of this research will achieve the goals and benefits of being used as a reference for enriching legal knowledge and sources of academic literature to create better, more comprehensive public policies. , and fairer as a preventive measure so that there are no further implications of horizontal community conflict resulting from obstacles or provocations that trigger acts of default as is the implication of this research.
