Quality standards for food products must be implemented to ensure safe consumption. Regulation Number 22 of 2018 from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) concerning Guidelines for Granting Food Production Certificates for Home Industries (IRTP) requires IRTP to have a Food Product Certificate (SPP) as a guarantee of food safety. However, there are still producers who do not comply with standards and use prohibited food additives such as Rhodamin. This study aims to analyze the responsibility of producers for unsafe food products without SPP-IRT, as well as legal remedies for consumers who are harmed. The research method used is juridical normative with literature study and document analysis. The data is analyzed descriptively analytically qualitatively. The results of the study show that producers are responsible for unsafe food products without SPP-IRT. BPOM as the authorized institution can follow up on consumer complaints to protect consumer rights.
