Abstract
Traffic accidents often cause several consequences simultaneously, in the form of fatalities or material damage to someone's property. Examples of cases include the city transport accident incident in the city of Semarang in mid-2022 which resulted in one person dying, four people being seriously injured, and the remaining four people suffering minor injuries. Such conditions have implications for the simultaneous violation of several criminal regulations stipulated in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. On the other hand, in criminal law there is something known as the doctrine of concurrent criminal acts which functions as a basis for law enforcers to bring defendants who commit more than one criminal act before the court. This research is intended to find out what is meant by the doctrine of concurrent criminal acts and how it is applied in cases of urban transport accidents in Semarang. The research carried out by researchers is normative juridical in nature using library study methods to collect legal materials in the form of statutory regulations, court decisions, academic texts, legal theories and doctrines. Through this research, it is known that the Panel of Judges at the Semarang District Court, in trying and sentencing defendants in urban transport accident incidents, is subject to the provisions of concurrent criminal acts regulated in Article 63 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
