Abstract
Advertising is one of the marketing tools that is widely used by business people to present their products to consumers. One of the most popular advertisements today uses the services of artists on Instagram to promote the products sold by the online store. This term is known as endorsement. In its development, advertising with labels has caused many problems that can harm consumers. The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of legal protection on the advertising of dangerous products. The research method used in this research is the normative juridical legal research method, which is research that seeks to examine the application of positive law in society and is protected by law. The technique used is mainly to explore data and sources obtained from literature (library research), namely by researching sources, written readings from experts and other scholars. The results showed that the regulations on Consumer Protection are contained in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection. If the products they promote violate existing regulations then they can be punished according to Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection.
